Is ChampRival free?
Yes, it is completely free and there is nothing to buy to play or to access any mode.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. We only ask for a nickname for games, and it is stored in your browser. There are no accounts, passwords or emails.
How do I play with a friend?
Choose a mode and the “Room with a friend” option, create the room and give your friend the 5-letter code or the invitation link. When they join, the game starts. More details in How to play.
What happens if my rival disconnects?
They have a few seconds to come back to the game. If they do not, you win. If you are the one who loses connection, reopening the website in the same tab takes you back to the game.
How does the Daily Champion work and when does it change?
Every day there is a secret champion, the same for everyone, which you find with the Champ Rival clues and with no limit on attempts. It changes at midnight Spanish time and the website shows you the countdown when you solve it.
Why is it slow to connect when I play online?
If nobody has played for a while, the first connection to the game server can take a little longer than usual. After that it works normally. If it does not connect, check your connection and try again.
How are the abilities in the Ability Challenge chosen?
A random champion is picked and, from it, one of its four abilities (Q, W, E or R) or its passive, with the same probability. In online games the server does it, and the champion is never revealed before you answer.
Can I play in English?
Yes. The website detects your browser language and you can switch between Spanish and English with the ES/EN selector in the header. Champion and ability names change language too.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes, it is designed for phones and tablets too. In Champ Rival, the clue table scrolls sideways so that all seven columns fit.
What data do you keep about me?
Almost none: your nickname, language, sound setting and daily challenge progress are stored only in your browser, and you can delete them with a button. We explain it in the Privacy policy.
Is ChampRival affiliated with Riot Games?
No. It is a fan project, created under Riot Games' policy for fan projects, and it is not endorsed or sponsored by the company. The official notices are in the footer.
I saw incorrect data or a champion is missing, what should I do?
Let us know: write to us saying which champion and which data point. New champions are added to the Champ Rival clues shortly after release; until then they cannot be the secret champion.
